Isa 13:19-22 | NASB2020 | STEP | And Babylon , the beauty of kingdoms , the glory of the Chaldeans’ pride , Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah .

Isaiah 13:19-22

19 And ^aBabylon, the ^bbeauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans’ pride,
Will be as when God ^coverthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20 It will ^dnever be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation;
Nor will the ^eArab pitch his tent there,
Nor will shepherds allow their flocks to lie down there.
21 But ^fdesert creatures will lie down there,
And their houses will be full of ^{▼▼Or howling creatures}owls;
Ostriches also will live there, and ^{▼▼Or goat demons}shaggy goats will frolic there.
22 ^{▼▼Or howling creatures}Hyenas will howl in their fortified towers
And jackals in their luxurious ^jpalaces.
Her fateful time also ^{▼▼Lit is near to come}will soon come,
And her days will not be prolonged.
