Psalms 114
God’s Rescue of Israel from Egypt.
1 When Israel went forth afrom Egypt,The house of Jacob from a people of a bforeign language,
2 Judah became cHis sanctuary;
Israel, dHis dominion.
3 The esea looked and fled;
The fJordan turned back.
4 The mountains gskipped like rams,
The hills, like lambs.
5 What hails you, sea, that you flee?
Jordan, that you turn back?
6 Mountains, that you skip like rams?
Hills, like lambs?
7 iTremble, earth, before the Lord,
Before the God of Jacob,
8 Who jturned the rock into a kpool of water,
The lflint into a fountain of water.
