Rom 15:1
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.

Ὀφείλομεν δὲ ἡμεῖς οἱ δυνατοὶ τὰ ἀσθενήματα τῶν ἀδυνάτων βαστάζειν, καὶ μὴ ἑαυτοῖς ἀρέσκειν.
Rom 15:2
Each of us should please our neighbours for their good, to build them up.
cLet each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
ἕκαστος ἡμῶν τῷ πλησίον ἀρεσκέτω εἰς τὸ ἀγαθὸν πρὸς οἰκοδομήν·
Rom 15:3
For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: ‘The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.’
Psalm 69:9
For eChrist did not please himself, but as it is written, f“The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.”
καὶ γὰρ Χριστὸς οὐχ ἑαυτῷ ἤρεσεν· ἀλλὰ καθὼς γέγραπται· Οἱ ὀνειδισμοὶ τῶν ὀνειδιζόντων σε ἐπέπεσαν ἐπ᾽ ἐμέ.
Rom 15:4
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

For gwhatever was written in former days was written for our hinstruction, that through endurance and through ithe encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
ὅσα γὰρ προεγράφη,

Rom 15:5
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you lto live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
δὲ θεὸς τῆς ὑπομονῆς καὶ τῆς παρακλήσεως δῴη ὑμῖν τὸ αὐτὸ φρονεῖν ἐν ἀλλήλοις κατὰ

Rom 15:6
so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom 15:7
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

Rom 15:8
For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews

on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed

Rom 15:9
and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written:

‘Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
I will sing the praises of your name.’
2 Samuel 22:50; Psalm 18:49

and in order xthat the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written,

yTherefore I will praise you among the Gentiles,
and sing to your name.”
τὰ δὲ ἔθνη ὑπὲρ ἐλέους δοξάσαι τὸν θεόν· καθὼς γέγραπται· Διὰ τοῦτο ἐξομολογήσομαί σοι ἐν ἔθνεσι, καὶ τῷ ὀνόματί σου ψαλῶ.
Rom 15:10
Again, it says, ‘Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.’
Deut. 32:43

And again it is said,

aaRejoice, O Gentiles, with his people.”
καὶ πάλιν λέγει· Εὐφράνθητε, ἔθνη, μετὰ τοῦ λαοῦ αὐτοῦ.
Rom 15:11
And again, ‘Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
let all the peoples extol him.’
Psalm 117:1

And again,

acPraise the Lord, all you Gentiles,
and let all the peoples extol him.”
καὶ πάλιν· Αἰνεῖτε,

Rom 15:12
And again, Isaiah says, ‘The Root of Jesse will spring up,
one who will arise to rule over the nations;
in him the Gentiles will hope.’

And again Isaiah says,

ag, ah“The root of Jesse will come,
even he who arises to rule the Gentiles;
aiin him will the Gentiles hope.”
καὶ πάλιν Ἠσαΐας λέγει· Ἔσται ῥίζα τοῦ Ἰεσσαί, καὶ ἀνιστάμενος ἄρχειν ἐθνῶν· ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ ἔθνη ἐλπιοῦσιν.
Rom 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

May the God of hope fill you with all ajjoy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

δὲ θεὸς τῆς ἐλπίδος πληρώσαι ὑμᾶς πάσης χαρᾶς καὶ εἰρήνης ἐν τῷ πιστεύειν, εἰς τὸ περισσεύειν ὑμᾶς ἐν τῇ ἐλπίδι ἐν δυνάμει πνεύματος ἁγίου.
