(LXX) ἐὰν μὴ εὐαρεστήσῃ τῷ κυρίῳ αὐτῆς ἣν αὑτῷ καθωμολογήσατο, ἀπολυτρώσει αὐτήν· ἔθνει δὲ ἀλλοτρίῳ οὐ κύριός ἐστιν πωλεῖν αὐτήν, ὅτι ἠθέτησεν ἐν αὐτῇ.(ABEn) If she should not be well-pleasing to her master, who did not solemnly promise her; on payment of ransom he shall release her; [8nation 1but 7to an alien 4not 2the master 3is 5to sell 6her], for he disrespected her.
(LXX) καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν μὴ θέλῃς αὐτήν, ἐξαποστελεῖς αὐτὴν ἐλευθέραν, καὶ πράσει οὐ πραθήσεται ἀργυρίου· οὐκ ἀθετήσεις αὐτήν, διότι ἐταπείνωσας αὐτήν.(ABEn) And it shall be if you should not want her, you shall send her free, and for sale you shall not sell her for silver, you shall not disrespect her, for you humbled her.
(LXX) καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν ὁ θεὸς πνεῦμα πονηρὸν ἀνὰ μέσον Αβιμελεχ, καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ἀνδρῶν Σικιμων, καὶ ἠθέτησαν οἱ ἄνδρες Σικιμων ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αβιμελεχ(ABEn) And God sent [2spirit 1a bad] between Abimelech and between the men of Shechem; and [4annulled allegiance 1the 2men 3of Shechem] with the house of Abimelech;
(LXX) καὶ ἦν ἡ ἁμαρτία τῶν παιδαρίων ἐνώπιον κυρίου μεγάλη σφόδρα, ὅτι ἠθέτουν τὴν θυσίαν κυρίου.(ABEn) And [5was 1the 2sin 3of the 4young men] great before the lord, exceedingly, for they annulled the sacrifice of the lord.
(LXX) και επαταξεν ιωναθαν τον νασιβ τον αλλοφυλον τον εν τω βουνω και ακουουσιν οι αλλοφυλοι και Σαουλ σαλπιγγι σαλπιζει εις πασαν την γην λεγων ηθετηκασιν οι δουλοι(ABEn) And Jonathan struck the Nasib of the Philistines, the one in the hill. And [3heard 1the 2Philistines], and Saul trumped the trumpet in all the land, saying, [3disregard us 1The 2servants].
(LXX) καὶ ἵλεως ἔσῃ ταῖς ἀδικίαις αὐτῶν, αἷς ἥμαρτόν σοι, καὶ κατὰ πάντα τὰ ἀθετήματα αὐτῶν, ἃ ἠθέτησάν σοι, καὶ δώσεις αὐτοὺς εἰς οἰκτιρμοὺς ἐνώπιον αἰχμαλωτευόντων αὐτούς, καὶ οἰκτιρήσουσιν αὐτούς·(ABEn) and you shall be propitious to their iniquities which they sinned against you, and according to all their wickednesses which ever they disregarded. And you shall appoint them for compassions before the ones capturing them, and they shall pity them.
(LXX) καὶ ἠθέτησεν Ισραηλ εἰς τὸν οἶκον Δαυιδ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης.(ABEn) And Israel annulled allegiance with the house of David until this day.
(LXX) Καὶ ἠθέτησεν Μωαβ ἐν Ισραηλ μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν Αχααβ.(ABEn) And Moab annulled allegiance with Israel after the dying of Ahab.
(LXX) καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν Αχααβ καὶ ἠθέτησεν βασιλεὺς Μωαβ ἐν βασιλεῖ Ισραηλ.(ABEn) And it came to pass after the dying of Ahab, Moab annulled allegiance with the king of Israel.
(LXX) καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν πρὸς Ιωσαφατ βασιλέα Ιουδα λέγων Βασιλεὺς Μωαβ ἠθέτησεν ἐν ἐμοί· εἰ πορεύσῃ μετ' ἐμοῦ εἰς μωαβ εἰς πόλεμον; καὶ εἶπεν Ἀναβήσομαι· ὅμοιός μοι ὅμοιός σοι, ὡς ὁ λαός μου ὁ λαός σου, ὡς οἱ ἵπποι μου οἱ ἵπποι σου.(ABEn) And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab annulled allegiance with me. Shall you go with me unto Moab for war? And he said, I will go; likened to you, likened to me; as your people, so my people; as your horses, so my horses.
(LXX) ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ ἠθέτησεν Εδωμ ὑποκάτωθεν χειρὸς Ιουδα καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν ἐφ' ἑαυτοὺς βασιλέα.(ABEn) In his days Edom annulled allegiance from beneath the hand of Judah, and they gave reign to [2over 3themselves 1a king].
(LXX) καὶ ἠθέτησεν Εδωμ ὑποκάτωθεν χειρὸς Ιουδα ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης. τότε ἠθέτησεν Λοβενα ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ.(ABEn) But Edom annulled allegiance from beneath the hand of Judah until this day. Then Libnah annulled allegiance in that time.
(LXX) καὶ ἦν κύριος μετ' αὐτοῦ, ἐν πᾶσιν, οἷς ἐποίει, συνῆκεν. καὶ ἠθέτησεν ἐν τῷ βασιλεῖ Ἀσσυρίων καὶ οὐκ ἐδούλευσεν αὐτῷ.(ABEn) And the lord was with him; in all the things which he did he perceived. And he annulled allegiance to the king of the Assyrians, and he did not serve to him.
(LXX) εἶπας Πλὴν λόγοι χειλέων βουλὴ καὶ δύναμις εἰς πόλεμον. νῦν οὖν τίνι πεποιθὼς ἠθέτησας ἐν ἐμοί;(ABEn) How then do words of the lips and counsel [2the battle array 1become] for war? Now then, upon whom are you relying upon, that you annulled allegiance to me?
(LXX) ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ ἀνέβη Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος, καὶ ἐγενήθη αὐτῷ Ιωακιμ δοῦλος τρία ἔτη· καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν καὶ ἠθέτησεν ἐν αὐτῷ.(ABEn) In his days [5ascended 1Nebuchadnezzar 2the 3king 4of Babylon]. And [2became 3his 1Jehoiakim] servant three years. And he turned and annulled allegiance to him.
(LXX) ὅτι ἐπὶ τὸν θυμὸν κυρίου ἦν ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐν τῷ Ιουδα, ἕως ἀπέρριψεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ. καὶ ἠθέτησεν Σεδεκιας ἐν τῷ βασιλεῖ Βαβυλῶνος.(ABEn) For by the rage of the lord the rage was on Jerusalem and on Judah, until he threw them from his face. And Zedekiah annulled allegiance to the king of Babylon.
(LXX) καὶ υἱοὶ Χαρμι· Αχαρ ὁ ἐμποδοστάτης Ισραηλ, ὃς ἠθέτησεν εἰς τὸ ἀνάθεμα.(ABEn) And sons of Carmi -- Achar the disturber of Israel, who broke contract in the offering for consumption.
(LXX) καὶ ἠθέτησαν ἐν θεῷ πατέρων αὐτῶν Καὶ ἐπόρνευσαν ὀπίσω θεῶν λαῶν τῆς γῆς, οὓς ἐξῆρεν ὁ θεὸς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν.(ABEn) And they annulled allegiance with the God of their fathers, and they committed harlotry after the gods of the peoples of the land, which God removed from in front of them.
(LXX) καὶ ἠθέτησεν Ισραηλ ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ Δαυιδ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης.(ABEn) And Israel annulled allegiance to the house of David until this day.
(LXX) ἐν τῷ τὰ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ναβουχοδονοσορ ἀθετῆσαι ἃ ὥρκισεν αὐτὸν κατὰ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐσκλήρυνεν τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ κατίσχυσεν τοῦ μὴ ἐπιστρέψαι πρὸς κύριον θεὸν Ισραηλ.(ABEn) in the [2the things 3with 4king 5Nebuchadnezzar 1annulling], in which he bound him by an oath according to God. And he hardened his neck, and [2his heart 1he strengthened] to not return to the lord God of Israel.
(LXX) καὶ πάντες οἱ ἔνδοξοι Ιουδα καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ ὁ λαὸς τῆς γῆς ἐπλήθυναν τοῦ ἀθετῆσαι ἀθετήματα βδελυγμάτων ἐθνῶν καὶ ἐμίαναν τὸν οἶκον κυρίου τὸν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ.(ABEn) And all the honorable men of Judah, and the priests, and the people of the land multiplied to disregard good, to do wickedness according to the abominations of the nations; and they defiled the house of the lord in Jerusalem.
(LXX) ἐν δὲ τῷ ἀναπληροῦσθαι τὸν χρόνον Εσθηρ τῆς θυγατρὸς Αμιναδαβ ἀδελφοῦ πατρὸς Μαρδοχαίου εἰσελθεῖν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα οὐδὲν ἠθέτησεν ὧν αὐτῇ ἐνετείλατο ὁ εὐνοῦχος ὁ φύλαξ τῶν γυναικῶν· ἦν γὰρ εσθηρ εὑρίσκουσα χάριν παρὰ πάντων τῶν βλεπόντων αὐτήν.(ABEn) And in the fulfilling the time, Esther the daughter of Abihail, brother of the father of Mordecai, entered to the king. Not one thing she disregarded which [6gave charge 7to her 1the 2eunuch 3keeper 4of the 5women]. [3was 1For 2Esther] found in favor by all the ones seeing her.
(LXX) ἐξουδένωται ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ πονηρευόμενος, τοὺς δὲ φοβουμένους κύριον δοξάζει· ὁ ὀμνύων τῷ πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀθετῶν·(ABEn) [2is treated with contempt 3before 4him 1The one acting wickedly]; but the one fearing the lord he glorifies, even the one swearing by an oath to his neighbor and not annulling it;
(LXX) κύριος διασκεδάζει βουλὰς ἐθνῶν, ἀθετεῖ δὲ λογισμοὺς λαῶν καὶ ἀθετεῖ βουλὰς ἀρχόντων·(ABEn) The lord effaces plans of nations, and he annuls devices of peoples, and he annuls plans of rulers.
(LXX) καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν καὶ ἠσυνθέτησαν καθὼς καὶ οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν καὶ μετεστράφησαν εἰς τόξον στρεβλὸν(ABEn) And they turned and annulled, as also their fathers converted into [2bow 1a crooked].
(LXX) οὐδὲ μὴ βεβηλώσω τὴν διαθήκην μου καὶ τὰ ἐκπορευόμενα διὰ τῶν χειλέων μου οὐ μὴ ἀθετήσω.(ABEn) nor in any way should I profane my covenant; and the things going forth through my lips in no way should I annul.
(LXX) ὤμοσεν κύριος τῷ Δαυιδ ἀλήθειαν καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀθετήσει αὐτήν Ἐκ καρποῦ τῆς κοιλίας σου· θήσομαι ἐπὶ τὸν θρόνον σου(ABEn) The lord swore by an oath to David in truth, and in no way shall he annul it, saying, [4from 5the fruit 6of your belly 1I will establish 2upon 3your throne].
(LXX)(ABEn) The soundness of the upright will guide them; and a fall [2the ones disregarding 1will plunder] them. [2will not benefit 1Possessions] in the day of rage; and righteousness shall rescue from death.
(LXX) Ἄκουε, οὐρανέ, καὶ ἐνωτίζου, γῆ, ὅτι κύριος ἐλάλησεν· υἱοὺς ἐγέννησα καὶ ὕψωσα, αὐτοὶ δέ με ἠθέτησαν.(ABEn) Hear, O heaven, and give ear O earth! For the lord spoke, saying, [2sons 1I have engendered], and raised them, but they disregarded me.
(LXX) τὸ ὅραμα καὶ σκληρὸν ἀνηγγέλη μοι. ὁ ἀθετῶν ἀθετεῖ, ὁ ἀνομῶν ἀνομεῖ. ἐπ' ἐμοὶ οἱ Αιλαμῖται, καὶ οἱ πρέσβεις τῶν Περσῶν ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἔρχονται. νῦν στενάξω καὶ παρακαλέσω ἐμαυτόν.(ABEn) so a fearful [3vision 1and 2hard] was announced to me; the one disregarding disregards; the one acting lawlessly acts lawlessly. [3are upon 4me 1The 2Elamites], and the ambassadors of the Persians [2against 3me 1come]. Now I shall moan and shall comfort myself.
(LXX) ἀπὸ τῶν πτερύγων τῆς γῆς τέρατα ἠκούσαμεν Ἐλπὶς τῷ εὐσεβεῖ. καὶ ἐροῦσιν Οὐαὶ τοῖς ἀθετοῦσιν, οἱ ἀθετοῦντες τὸν νόμον.(ABEn) O lord God of Israel, from the wings of the earth [2miracles 1we heard] -- hope to the pious; but they shall say, Woe to the ones annulling -- the ones annulling the law.
(LXX) καὶ αὐτὸς σοφὸς ἦγεν ἐπ' αὐτοὺς κακά, καὶ ὁ λόγος αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ ἀθετηθῇ, καὶ ἐπαναστήσεται ἐπ' οἴκους ἀνθρώπων πονηρῶν καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν ἐλπίδα αὐτῶν τὴν ματαίαν,(ABEn) And he wisely brought upon them bad things, and his word in no way shall be annulled. And he shall rise up against the houses [2men 1of wicked], and against [3hope 1their 2vain] --
(LXX) Οὐαὶ τοῖς ταλαιπωροῦσιν ὑμᾶς, ὑμᾶς δὲ οὐδεὶς ποιεῖ ταλαιπώρους, καὶ ὁ ἀθετῶν ὑμᾶς οὐκ ἀθετεῖ· ἁλώσονται οἱ ἀθετοῦντες καὶ παραδοθήσονται καὶ ὡς σὴς ἐπὶ ἱματίου οὕτως ἡττηθήσονται.(ABEn) Woe to the ones causing misery, [4you 1but 2no one 3makes] miserable; and the one disrespecting you, does not disrespect; [3shall be captured 1the ones 2disrespecting], and they shall be delivered up; and as a moth upon a cloak, so they shall be vanquished.
(LXX) οὔτε ἔγνως οὔτε ἠπίστω, οὔτε ἀπ' ἀρχῆς ἤνοιξά σου τὰ ὦτα· ἔγνων γὰρ ὅτι ἀθετῶν ἀθετήσεις καὶ ἄνομος ἔτι ἐκ κοιλίας κληθηση(ABEn) Neither you knew, nor were knowing of, nor from the beginning when your ears; for I knew that in disregarding you shall disregard, and [2lawless 3even 4from out of 5the belly 1you would be called].
(LXX) καὶ εἶπεν Οὐχ ὁ λαός μου τέκνα οὐ μὴ ἀθετήσωσιν; καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτοῖς εἰς σωτηρίαν(ABEn) And he said, [4my people 1Children 2in no way 3will disrespect]. And he became to them for deliverance,
(LXX) πλὴν ὡς ἀθετεῖ γυνὴ εἰς τὸν συνόντα αὐτῇ, οὕτως ἠθέτησεν εἰς ἐμὲ οἶκος Ισραηλ, λέγει κύριος.(ABEn) Only as [2annuls 1a wife] against the one being with her, so [4annulled 5against 6me 1the 2house 3of Israel], says the lord.
(LXX) ὅτι ἀθετῶν ἠθέτησεν εἰς ἐμέ, λέγει κύριος, οἶκος Ισραηλ καὶ οἶκος Ιουδα.(ABEn) For in disrespecting they disrespected against me, says the lord, even the house of Israel, and the house of Judah.
(LXX) τίς δῴη μοι ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ σταθμὸν ἔσχατον καὶ καταλείψω τὸν λαόν μου καὶ ἀπελεύσομαι ἀπ' αὐτῶν; ὅτι πάντες μοιχῶνται, σύνοδος ἀθετούντων.(ABEn) Who shall give to me [3of 4the 5wilderness 1a post house 2at the end]? for I shall leave my people, and I shall go forth from them, for they all commit adultery; a convocation of ones annulling covenant.
(LXX) Δίκαιος εἶ, κύριε, ὅτι ἀπολογήσομαι πρὸς σέ, πλὴν κρίματα λαλήσω πρὸς σέ· τί ὅτι ὁδὸς ἀσεβῶν εὐοδοῦται, εὐθήνησαν πάντες οἱ ἀθετοῦντες ἀθετήματα;(ABEn) You are righteous, O lord, that I may plead to you. [4only 5concerning judgments 1I will speak 2to 3you]. Why is it that the way of the impious prospers? [5prospered 1All 2the ones 3disrespecting 4in wickedness].
(LXX) ὅτι καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου, καὶ ὁ οἶκος τοῦ πατρός σου καὶ οὗτοι ἠθέτησάν σε, καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐβόησαν, ἐκ τῶν ὀπίσω σου ἐπισυνήχθησαν· μὴ πιστεύσῃς ἐν αὐτοῖς, ὅτι λαλήσουσιν πρὸς σὲ καλά.(ABEn) For even your brethren and the house of your father, even they disregarded you; and they yelled out; [2at 3your rear 1they assembled]; you should not trust in them when they speak with you good words.
(LXX) ὑπὸ τῶν ἀθετούντων τοὺς λόγους σου· συντέλεσον αὐτούς, καὶ ἔσται ὁ λόγος σου ἐμοὶ εἰς εὐφροσύνην καὶ χαρὰν καρδίας μου, ὅτι ἐπικέκληται τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐπ' ἐμοί, κύριε παντοκράτωρ.(ABEn) even by the ones disregarding your words. Finish them off entirely! and [2will be 1your word] to me for gladness and the joy of my heart. For [2has been called 1your name] upon me, O lord almighty.
(LXX)(ABEn) Thus says the lord, If [3as being annuled 1you should make 2my covenant], the covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so as for there to not be a day and a night in their time,
(LXX)(ABEn) then my covenant being annuled will be with David my servant, so as to not be of him a son reigning upon his throne nor with the Levites and priests of my ministration.
(LXX) Κλαίουσα ἔκλαυσεν ἐν νυκτί, καὶ τὰ δάκρυα αὐτῆς ἐπὶ τῶν σιαγονων αὐτῆς, καὶ οὐχ ὑπάρχει ὁ παρακαλῶν αὐτὴν ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἀγαπώντων αὐτήν· πάντες οἱ φιλοῦντες αὐτὴν ἠθέτησαν ἐν αὐτῇ, ἐγένοντο αὐτῇ εἰς ἐχθρούς.(ABEn) ΒΗΘ In weeping, she wept in the night, and her tears are upon her cheeks, and no one existed comforting her from all of the ones loving her. All the ones being fond of her discarded her, they became to her for enemies.
(LXX) καὶ εἶπεν πρός με, Υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, ἐξαποστέλλω ἐγώ σε πρὸς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Ισραηλ τοὺς παραπικραίνοντάς με οἵτινες παρεπίκρανάν με αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν ἕως τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας,(ABEn) And he said to me, O son of man, I shall send you to the sons of Israel, of the ones rebelling against me; the ones who rebelled against me. They and their fathers disregarded me, until today's day.
(LXX) καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς αὐτῆς ἠθέτησαν νόμον μου· καὶ ἐβεβήλουν τὰ ἅγιά μου ἀνὰ μέσον ἁγίου καὶ βεβήλου οὐ διέστελλον καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἀκαθάρτου καὶ τοῦ καθαροῦ οὐ διέστελλον καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν σαββάτων μου παρεκάλυπτον τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐβεβηλούμην ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν.(ABEn) And her priests annulled my law, and they profaned my holy things. Between holy and profane they distinguished not, and between unclean and the clean they distinguished not; and from my Sabbaths they covered up their eyes, and I was profaned in their midst.
(LXX) καὶ γνώσονται πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ὅτι διὰ τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν ᾐχμαλωτεύθησαν οἶκος Ισραηλ, ἀνθ' ὧν ἠθέτησαν εἰς ἐμέ, καὶ ἀπέστρεψα τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἀπ' αὐτῶν καὶ παρέδωκα αὐτοὺς εἰς χεῖρας τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν, καὶ ἔπεσαν πάντες μαχαίρᾳ.(ABEn) And [4shall know 1all 2the 3nations] that [4on account of 5their sin 3was captured 1the house 2of Israel], because they annulled covenant against me, and I turned my face from them, and delivered them into the hands of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.
(LXX) σοί, κύριε, ἡ δικαιοσύνη, καὶ ἡμῖν ἡ αἰσχύνη τοῦ προσώπου ὡς ᾗ ἡμέρα αὕτη, ἀνδρὶ Ιουδα καὶ τοῖς ἐνοικοῦσιν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ παντὶ Ισραηλ τοῖς ἐγγὺς καὶ τοῖς μακρὰν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ, οὗ διέσπειρας αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ ἐν ἀθεσίᾳ αὐτῶν, ἡ ἠθέτησαν ἐν σοί,(ABEn) To you, O lord, is righteousness, and to us the shame of face, as this day; to the man of Judah, and to the ones dwelling Jerusalem, and to all Israel, to the ones near, and to the ones far off in all the earth, of which you dispersed them there, for their rebellion in which they annulled covenant with you, O lord.
