Jeremiah 32:2

2It was then that the army of the king of Babylon besieged Jerusalem. And Jeremiah, the prophet, was confined to the atrium of the prison, which was in the house of the king of Judah.
32:2It seems from the wording of this verse that Jeremiah, because he was a prophet, was only restricted to the atrium to the prison, and not chained up, and not enclosed in its inner or lower rooms. This would be comparable to something more than house arrest, but less than full imprisonment. And so Jeremiah, from prison, was able to buy a piece of land, and sign and seal deeds, and have witnesses attest to the transaction.(Conte)
