1 John 2:17
Passeth away; and should not therefore be made the object of our love.That doeth the will of God; in opposition to loving the world and its lusts.Abideth for ever; is blessed union with God, who is an imperishable portion. That love of worldly enjoyment which leads men supremely to seek it, is inconsistent with the love of God; and however much of it any may obtain, it will be unsatisfying and temporary; while that love of God which leads them to find their chief enjoyment in learning and doing his will, will be satisfying and eternal.
