Psalms 9:1-10

1For the choir director: according to Muth-labben.
Perhaps a musical term
A Davidic psalm.

I will thank
Yahweh/Yah: Or The Lord; the personal name of God in Hebrew; "Yah" is the shortened form of the name.
Yahweh with all my heart;
I will declare all Your wonderful works. c
2 I will rejoice and boast about You; d
I will sing about Your name,
Most High: The Hebrew word is Elyon. It is often used with other names of God, such as El (God) or Yahweh (Lord); it is used to refer to God as the supreme being.
Most High. f

3 When my enemies retreat,
they stumble and perish before You. g
4 For You have upheld my just cause;
Lit my justice and my cause
,
i
You are seated on Your throne as a righteous judge. j
5 You have rebuked the nations: k
You have destroyed the wicked; l
You have erased their name forever and ever. m
6 The enemy has come to eternal ruin;
You have uprooted the cities,
and the very memory of them has perished. n

7 But the Lord sits enthroned forever; o
He has established His throne for judgment. p
8 He judges the world with righteousness;
He executes judgment on the nations with fairness. q
9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble. r
10 Those who know Your name trust in You
because You have not abandoned
those who seek You, Yahweh. s
