Message to Sardis

1To the angel of the church in aSardis write:

He who has bthe seven Spirits of God and cthe seven stars, says this: ‘ dI know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive,
Lit and
but you are fdead.
2Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God. 3So gremember
Lit how
what you have received and heard; and keep it, and irepent. Therefore if you do not wake up, jI will come klike a thief, and you will not know at lwhat hour I will come to you.
4But you have a few

npeople in oSardis who have not psoiled their garments; and they will walk with Me qin white, for they are worthy.
5rHe who overcomes will thus be clothed in swhite garments; and I will not terase his name from the book of life, and uI will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. 6vHe who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

Message to Philadelphia

7And to the angel of the church in wPhiladelphia write:

xHe who is holy, ywho is true, who has zthe key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this:

8aaI know your
Or deeds (behold...shut), that you have
deeds. Behold, I have put before you acan open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and adhave not denied My name.
9Behold, I

will cause those of afthe synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lieI will make them agcome and bow down

at your feet, and make them know that aiI have loved you.

perseverance, amI also will keep you from the hour of

aotesting, that hour which is about to come upon the whole

test asthose who dwell on the earth.
11atI am coming quickly; auhold fast what you have, so that no one will take your avcrown. 12awHe who overcomes, I will make him a axpillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the ayname of My God, and azthe name of the city of My God, bathe new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My bbnew name. 13bcHe who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

Message to Laodicea

14To the angel of the church in bdLaodicea write:

beThe Amen, bfthe faithful and true Witness, bgthe

15biI know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; bjI wish that you were cold or hot. 16So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will

spit you out of My mouth.
17Because you say, blI am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, 18I advise you to bmbuy from Me bngold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and bowhite garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that bpthe shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19bqThose whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and brrepent. 20Behold, I stand bsat the door and btknock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, buI will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21bvHe who overcomes, I will grant to him bwto sit down with Me on My throne, as bxI also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22byHe who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
