1 Timothy 6:6-10

6 ^aBut godliness actually is a means of ^bgreat gain when accompanied by ^ccontentment. 7 For ^dwe have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it, either. 8 If we ^ehave food and ^{▼▼I.e., any covering for protection, mainly clothing}covering, with these we shall be content. 9 ^gBut those who want to get rich fall into temptation and ^ha trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For ⁱthe love of money is a root of all ^{▼▼Lit the evils}sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have ^kwandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many ^{▼▼Lit pains}griefs.
