Psalms 16:11
You lead me in ▼▼ Heb “cause me to know”; or “cause me to experience.”
the path of life; ▼▼ This is a metaphorical way of saying, “you preserve my life.” The phrase “path of life” stands in contrast to death/Sheol in Prov 2:18–19; 5:5–6; 15:24.
I experience absolute joy in your presence; ▼
you always give me sheer delight. ▼
Psalm 17
▼▼ Psalm 17. The psalmist asks God to intervene on his behalf because his life is threatened by dangerous enemies. He appeals to divine justice, for he is certain of his own innocence. Because he is innocent, he expects to encounter God and receive an assuring word.
A prayer of David.
