There are abundant traces of this wonderful miracle remaining at this day. This rock has been visited, drawn, and described by Dr. Shaw and others; and holes and channels appear in the stone, which could only have been formed by the bursting out and running of water. in Horeb.3:1-5and thou.Nu 20:9-11; De 8:15; Ne 9:15; Ps 78:15,16,20; 105:41; 114:8Isa 48:21; 1Co 10:4that the people.Ps 46:4; Isa 41:17,18; 43:19,20; Joh 4:10,14; 7:37,38; Re 22:17Judges 15:18-19

En-hakkore, the well of him that cried, which kept him in remembrance both of his own distress which caused him to cry, and the favour of Jehovah to him in answer to his cry. Many a spring of comfort God opens to his people, which may fitly be called by the name En-hakkore: and this instance of Samson's relief should encourage us to trust in God, for when he pleases he can open rivers in high places. Isa 41:17,18Samson at first gave the name of Ramath-lehi (the lifting up of the jaw-bone) which denoted him great and triumphant: but now he gives it another name, En-hakkore, which denotes him wanting and dependent. There Christ was born, who is the "bread of life," and who also gives us the "water of life." "The water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
