The Lord. This was a bold speech, in the presence of those priests and people who were prejudiced in favour of the false prophets, who prophesied to them smooth things. 11; 14:14,15; 23:21; 27:15; 29:23,31,32; 1Ki 22:23; Eze 13:2,3,22Eze 22:28; La 2:14; Zec 13:3 I will.Ge 7:4; Ex 32:12; De 6:15; 1Ki 13:34; Am 9:8this year.3; 20:6; Nu 14:37; 16:28-35; 29:32; De 13:5-11because.Eze 13:11,12; Ac 13:8-11rebellion. Here then the true prophet was demonstrated, and the false prophet detected. The death of Hananiah, thus predicted, was God's seal to the words of His prophet, and must have gained his other predictions great credit among the people; though it is evident that it did not induce them to forsake their sins and return to the God of Israel.Jeremiah 29:20-21
hear.Dr. Blayney thinks there were two letters written by the prophet to the captives in Babylon, and the first ends with this verse. That having heard, on the return of the embassy, that the captives had received his advices favourably, and because they were deceived by false prophets, who promised them a speedier deliverance, he therefore wrote a second letter, beginning with the fifteenth verse, and going on with the twenty-first, etc. (in which order these verses are read in the Septuagint,) in which he denounces God's judgments on the three chief of those, Ahab, Zedekiah, and Shemaiah. all ye.Eze 3:11,15whom.24:5; Mic 4:10 which.8,9; 14:14,15; La 2:14Jeremiah 29:31-32
