The Death of David

10 a  Then David slept with his fathers and was buried in b  the city of David.

Job 30:23

23 e  For I know that you will bring me to death
and to the house appointed for f  all living.

Psalms 49:6-10

6those who g  trust in their wealth
and boast of the abundance of their riches?
7Truly no man h  can ransom another,
or i  give to God j  the price of his life,
8for k  the ransom of their life is costly
and can never suffice,
9that he should live on forever
and l  never see the pit.
10 For he sees m  that even the wise die;
n  the fool and the stupid alike must perish

Psalms 49:14

14Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol;
death shall be their shepherd,
and the upright p  shall rule over them in the morning.
q  Their form shall be consumed r  in Sheol, with no place to dwell.

Psalms 89:48

48 s  What man can live and never t  see death?
Who can deliver his soul from the power of u  Sheol?  Selah

Ecclesiastes 8:8

8No man has power to v  retain the spirit w  or power over the day of death. There is no x  discharge from war, nor will wickedness deliver those who are given to it.

Isaiah 14:10-16

10 y  All of them will answer
and say to you:
You too have become as weak as we!
You have become like us!’
11Your pomp is brought down to Sheol,
the sound of your harps;
maggots are laid as a bed beneath you,
and worms are your covers.
12 How z  you are fallen from heaven,
O Day Star, aa  son of Dawn!
How you are cut down to the ground,
you who laid the nations low!
13You said in your heart,
ab  ‘I will ascend to heaven;
above the stars of God
ac  I will set my throne on high;
I will sit on the mount of assembly
in the far reaches of the north;
Or  in the remote parts of Zaphon

14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
15 ae  But you are brought down to Sheol,
to the far reaches of the pit.
16Those who see you will stare at you
and ponder over you:
‘Is this af  the man who made the earth tremble,
who shook kingdoms,
