2 Samuel 12:23

23But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, a  but he will not return to me.”

2 Samuel 14:14

14We must all die; we are b  like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God will not take away life, and he devises means c  so that the banished one will not remain an outcast.

Job 7:8-10

8 d  The eye of him who sees me will behold me no more;
while your eyes are on me, e  I shall be gone.
9As f  the cloud fades and vanishes,
so he who g  goes down to Sheol does not come up;
10he h  returns no more to his house,
nor does his i  place know him anymore.

Job 14:10-14

10But a man dies and is laid low;
man breathes his last, and j  where is he?
11 k  As waters fail from a lake
and a river wastes away and dries up,
12so a man lies down and rises not again;
till l  the heavens are no more he will not awake
or be m  roused out of his sleep.
13Oh that you would n  hide me in o  Sheol,
that you would p  conceal me q  until your wrath be past,
that you would appoint me a set time, and remember me!
14If a man dies, shall he live again?
All the days of my r  service I would s  wait,
till my renewal
Or relief
should come.

Isaiah 38:11

11I said, I shall not see the  Lord,
the  Lord u  in the land of the living;
I shall look on man no more
among the inhabitants of the world.
