Amos 1:6-10

6Thus says the  Lord:

a  “For three transgressions of b  Gaza,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because c  they carried into exile a whole people
to deliver them up to Edom.
7So I will send a fire upon the wall of d  Gaza,
and it shall devour her strongholds.
8I will cut off the inhabitants from e  Ashdod,
and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon;
I will turn my hand against Ekron,
and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,”

says the Lord  God.

9Thus says the  Lord:

f  “For three transgressions of g  Tyre,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because they delivered up a whole people to Edom,
and did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.
10So I will send a fire upon the wall of h  Tyre,
and it shall devour her strongholds.”

Amos 1:12-14

12So I will send a fire upon i  Teman,
and it shall devour the strongholds of j  Bozrah.”

13Thus says the  Lord:

k  “For three transgressions of the l  Ammonites,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because m  they have ripped open pregnant women in n  Gilead,
that they might enlarge their border.
14So I will kindle a fire in the wall of o  Rabbah,
p  and it shall devour her strongholds,
with shouting on the day of battle,
q  with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

Zechariah 9:2-8

2 r  and on Hamath also, which borders on it,
s  Tyre and t  Sidon, though u  they are very wise.
3Tyre has built herself v  a rampart
and w  heaped up silver like dust,
and fine gold like the mud of the streets.
4But behold, the Lord will strip her of her possessions
and strike down x  her power on the sea,
and y  she shall be devoured by fire.
5 z  Ashkelon shall see it, and be afraid;
Gaza too, and shall writhe in anguish;
Ekron also, because its hopes are confounded.
The king shall perish from Gaza;
Ashkelon shall be uninhabited;
6 aa  a mixed people
Or  a foreign people; Hebrew  a bastard
shall dwell in Ashdod,
and I will cut off the pride of Philistia.
7I will take away ac  its blood from its mouth,
and ad  its abominations from between its teeth;
ae  it too shall be a remnant for our God;
it shall be like af  a clan in Judah,
and Ekron shall be like the Jebusites.
8Then ag  I will encamp at my house as a guard,
ah  so that none shall march to and fro;
ai  no oppressor shall again march over them,
aj  for now I see with my own eyes.
