Deuteronomy 8:17

17Beware a  lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’

Isaiah 10:13-15

13 b  For he says:

“By the strength of my hand I have done it,
and by my wisdom, for I have understanding;
I remove the boundaries of peoples,
and plunder their treasures;
like a bull I bring down those who sit on thrones.
14My hand has found like a nest
the wealth of the peoples;
and as one gathers eggs that have been forsaken,
so I have gathered all the earth;
and there was none that moved a wing
or opened the mouth or chirped.”
15 Shall c  the axe boast over him who hews with it,
or the saw magnify itself against him who wields it?
As if a rod should wield him who lifts it,
or as if a staff should lift him who is not wood!

Isaiah 37:24

24By your servants you have mocked the Lord,
and you have said d  With my many chariots
I have gone up the heights of the mountains,
to the far recesses of Lebanon,
e  to cut down its tallest cedars,
its choicest cypresses,
to come to its remotest height,
its most fruitful forest.

k  that says, ‘My Nile is my own;
I made it for myself.’

Daniel 4:30

30and the king answered and said, l  “Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by m  my mighty power as a royal residence and for n  the glory of my majesty?”

Daniel 5:23

23but you have lifted up yourself against o  the Lord of heaven. And p  the vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. q  And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, r  but the God in whose hand is your breath, and s  whose are all your ways, t  you have not honored.

Habakkuk 1:11

11Then they sweep by like the wind and go on,
u  guilty men, v  whose own might is their god!”
