Matthew 15:22-27

22And behold b  a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying c  “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” 23But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying d  “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” 24He answered, e  I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25But she came and f  knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26And he answered, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and g  throw it to the dogs.” 27She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat h  the crumbs that fall from their masterstable.”

Luke 11:5-13

5And he said to them, Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, 6for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? 8I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything i  because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence
Or persistence
he will rise and give him whatever he needs.
9And I tell you k  ask, and l  it will be given to you; m  seek, and you will find; n  knock, and it will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11What father among you, if his son asks for
Some manuscripts insert bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for
a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent;
12or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13If you then p  who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father q  give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, ab  will he find faith on earth?”
