Genesis 3:16

“I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing;
a  in pain you shall bring forth children.

your husband,
and he shall d  rule over you.”

Isaiah 26:16-18

16 O  Lord, e  in distress they sought you;
they poured out a whispered prayer
when your discipline was upon them.
17 f  Like a pregnant woman
who writhes and cries out in her pangs
when she is near to giving birth,
so were we because of you, O  Lord;
18 g  we were pregnant, we writhed,
but we have given birth to wind.
We have accomplished no deliverance in the earth,
and the inhabitants of the world have not fallen.

Jeremiah 30:6-7

6Ask now, and see,
can a man bear a child?
h  Why then do I see every man
with his hands on his stomach i  like a woman in labor?
j  Why has every face turned pale?
7Alas! k  That day is so great
l  there is none like it;
it is a time of distress for Jacob;
yet he shall be saved out of it.

Hosea 13:13-14

13 m  The pangs of childbirth come for him,
but he is an unwise son,
for at the right time he does not present himself
n  at the opening of the womb.
14 o  Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol?
p  Shall I redeem them from Death?
q  O r  Death, where are your plagues?
s  O t  Sheol, where is your sting?
u  Compassion is hidden from my eyes.

Micah 4:10

10 v  Writhe and groan
Or push
O daughter of Zion,
like a woman in labor,
for x  now you shall go out from the city
and dwell in the open country;
you y  shall go to Babylon.
There you shall be rescued;
z  there the  Lord will redeem you
from the hand of your enemies.

2She was pregnant and aa  was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth. 3And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great ab  red dragon ac  with seven heads and ad  ten horns, and on his heads ae  seven diadems. 4His tail swept down af  a third of the stars of heaven and ag  cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child ah  he might devour it. 5She gave birth to a male child, ai  one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was aj  caught up to God and to his throne,
