Isaiah 24:1-5

Judgment on the Whole Earth

1 Behold, a  the  Lord will empty the earth
Or land; also throughout this chapter
and make it desolate,
and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants.
2 c  And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;
as with the slave, so with his master;
as with the maid, so with her mistress;
d  as with the buyer, so with the seller;
as with the lender, so with the borrower;
e  as with the creditor, so with the debtor.
3 f  The earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered;
g  for the  Lord has spoken this word.
4 h  The earth mourns and withers;
the world languishes and withers;
the highest people of the earth languish.
5The earth lies i  defiled
under its inhabitants;
for j  they have transgressed the laws,
violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant.

Isaiah 34:4-10

4 k  All the host of heaven shall rot away,
and the skies roll up like a scroll.
All their host shall fall,
as leaves fall from the vine,
like leaves falling from the fig tree.
5 For my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens;
behold, it descends for judgment upon l  Edom,
upon the people m  I have devoted to destruction.
6The  Lord has a sword; it is sated with blood;
it is gorged with fat,
with the blood of lambs and goats,
with the fat of the kidneys of rams.
n  For the  Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah,
a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7 o  Wild oxen shall p  fall with them,
and q  young steers with r  the mighty bulls.
Their land shall drink its fill of blood,
and their soil shall be gorged with fat.
8 s  For the  Lord has a day of vengeance,
a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
9 t  And the streams of Edom
Hebrew her streams
shall be turned into pitch,
and her soil into sulfur;
her land shall become burning pitch.
10Night and day v  it shall not be quenched;
w  its smoke shall go up forever.
x  From generation to generation it shall lie waste;
none shall pass through it forever and ever.

Jeremiah 4:23-28

23 I looked on the earth, and behold, it was y  without form and void;
z  and to the heavens, and they had no light.
24I looked on aa  the mountains, and behold, they were quaking,
and all the hills moved to and fro.
25 ab  I looked, and behold, there was no man,
and all the birds of the air had fled.
26I looked, and behold, the ac  fruitful land was a desert,
and all its cities were laid in ruins
before the  Lord, before ad  his fierce anger.

27For thus says the  Lord, “The whole land shall be a desolation; ae  yet I will not make a full end.

28 af  For this the earth shall mourn,
ag  and the heavens above be dark;
for I have spoken; I have purposed;
ah  I have not relented, nor will I turn back.”

Nahum 1:5

5 ai  The mountains quake before him;
aj  the hills melt;
the earth heaves before him,
ak  the world and all who dwell in it.

Habakkuk 3:6

6He stood al  and measured the earth;
he looked and shook the nations;
then the am  eternal mountains an  were scattered;
the everlasting hills sank low.
His were ao  the everlasting ways.

Matthew 24:3

Signs of the End of the Age

3As he sat on ap  the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him aq  privately, saying, “Tell us ar  when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your as  coming and of at  the end of the age?”

Revelation of John 20:11
