Isaiah 2:11-17

and the lofty pride of men shall be humbled,
and the  Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
12 b  For the  Lord of hosts has a day
against all that is proud and lofty,
against all that is lifted up—and it shall be brought low;
13against all the c  cedars of Lebanon,
lofty and lifted up;
and against all the d  oaks of Bashan;
14against all e  the lofty mountains,
and against all the uplifted hills;
15against every high tower,
and against every fortified wall;
16against all f  the ships of Tarshish,
and against all the beautiful craft.
17 g  And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled,
and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low,
and the  Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

and the thirsty ground springs of water;
in the haunt of k  jackals, where they lie down,
the grass shall become reeds and rushes.
8 l  And a highway shall be there,
and it shall be called the Way of Holiness;
m  the unclean shall not pass over it.
It shall belong to those who walk on the way;
even if they are fools, they shall not go astray.
Or  if they are fools, they shall not wander in it

The Year of the  Lord’s Favor

1 q  The Spirit of the Lord  God is upon me,
because the  Lord has r  anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
Or afflicted

he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and t  the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Or  the opening [of the eyes] to those who are blind; Septuagint  and recovery of sight to the blind

2 v  to proclaim the year of the  Lord’s favor,
w  and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
3to grant to those who mourn in Zion
x  to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
y  the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
z  that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the  Lord aa  that he may be glorified.
Or  that he may display his beauty

Ezekiel 17:24

24And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the  Lord; ac  I bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up ad  the green tree, and make ae  the dry tree flourish. af  I am the  Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.”

Luke 1:51-53

53he has filled ak  the hungry with good things,
and the rich al  he has sent away empty.
