16Woe to q  you r  blind guides, who say s  If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’ 17You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or t  the temple that has made the gold sacred? 18And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by u  the gift that is on the altar, he is bound by his oath.’ 19You blind men! 25 ag  Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ah  you clean the outside of ai  the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of aj  greed and self-indulgence. 26You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of ak  the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

27 al  Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like am  whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and an  all uncleanness. 28So you also ao  outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of ap  hypocrisy and lawlessness.

29 aq  Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous,

Luke 11:42-47

45One of ay  the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you insult us also.” 46And he said, Woe to you az  lawyers also! For you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed.
