Job 23:3-7

3Oh a  that I knew where I might find him,
that I might come even to his b  seat!
4I would c  lay my case before him
and fill my mouth with arguments.
5I would know what he would answer me
and understand what he would say to me.
6Would he d  contend with me in the greatness of his power?
No; he would pay attention to me.
7There an upright man could argue with him,
and I would be acquitted forever by my judge.

Job 31:35

35Oh, that I had one to hear me!

Job 33:6-18

6Behold, I am toward God as you are;
I too was pinched off from a piece of g  clay.
7Behold, no h  fear of me need terrify you;
my i  pressure will not be heavy upon you.
8 Surely you have spoken in my ears,
and I have heard the sound of your words.
9You say, ‘I am j  pure, without k  transgression;
I am clean, and there is no iniquity in me.
10Behold, he finds occasions against me,
he l  counts me as his enemy,
11he m  puts my feet in the stocks
and n  watches all my paths.’
12 Behold, in this you are not right. I will answer you,
for God is greater than man.
13Why do you o  contend against him,
saying, ‘He p  will answer none of man’s
Hebrew his
words’?
Or  He will not answer for any of his own words

14For God s  speaks in one way,
t  and in two, though man u  does not perceive it.
15In v  a dream, in w  a vision of x  the night,
when y  deep sleep falls on men,
while they slumber on their beds,
16then he z  opens the ears of men
and terrifies them with warnings,
17that he may turn man aside from his aa  deed
and conceal pride from a man;
18he keeps back his soul from the pit,
his life from ab  perishing by the sword.
