Luke 4:3-12

3The devil said to him, “If you are a  the Son of God, command b  this stone to become bread.” 4And Jesus answered him, c  “It is written d  Man shall not live by bread alone.’” 5 e  And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, 6and said to him, “To you f  I will give all this authority and their glory g  for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. 7If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.” 8And Jesus answered him, h  “It is written,

i  “‘You shall worship the Lord your God,
and j  him only shall you serve.’”

9 k  And he took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are l  the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, 10for it is written,

m  “‘He will command his angels concerning you,
to guard you,’


n  “‘On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”

12And Jesus answered him, “It is said o  ‘You shall not p  put the Lord your God to the test.’”

Ephesians 4:27

27and q  give no opportunity to the devil.

Ephesians 6:11-13

11 r  Put on s  the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against t  the schemes of the devil. 12For u  we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against v  the rulers, against the authorities, against w  the cosmic powers over x  this present darkness, against y  the spiritual forces of evil z  in the heavenly places. 13Therefore aa  take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in ab  the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

James 4:7

7Submit yourselves therefore to God. ac  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
