Psalms 37:1

He Will Not Forsake His Saints

This psalm is an acrostic poem, each stanza beginning with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet
Of David.

1 b  Fret not yourself because of evildoers;
be not c  envious of wrongdoers!

Psalms 37:7

7 d  Be still before the  Lord and wait patiently for him;
e  fret not yourself over the one who f  prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices!

Psalms 73:3

3 g  For I was h  envious of the arrogant
when I saw the i  prosperity of the wicked.

Proverbs 3:31

31 j  Do not envy k  a man of violence
and do not choose any of his ways,

Proverbs 23:17

17Let not your heart l  envy sinners,
but continue in m  the fear of the  Lord all the day.

drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that s  those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

James 4:5-6

5Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit t  that he has made to dwell in us”? 6But u  he gives more grace. Therefore it says v  God opposes the proud, but w  gives grace to the humble.”
