Psalms 43:4

4Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God my exceeding joy,
and I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God.

Malachi 2:11-13

11Judah has been a  faithless, and abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem. For b  Judah has profaned the sanctuary of the  Lord, which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god. 12May the  Lord cut off from the tents of Jacob any descendant
Hebrew  any who wakes and answers
of the man who does this, who d  brings an offering to the  Lord of hosts!

13And this second thing you do. e  You cover the  Lord’s altar with tears, with weeping and groaning because he no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand.

Matthew 5:23-24

23 f  So if g  you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

1 Corinthians 11:28-29

28 h  Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.
