Psalms 69:14-20

14Deliver me
from sinking in a  the mire;
b  let me be delivered from my enemies
and from c  the deep waters.
15Let not the flood sweep over me,
or the deep swallow me up,
or d  the pit close e  its mouth over me.
16 Answer me, O  Lord, for your f  steadfast love is good;
according to your abundant g  mercy, h  turn to me.
17 i  Hide not your face from your servant;
j  for I am in distress; k  make haste to answer me.
18Draw near to my soul, redeem me;
ransom me because of my enemies!
19 You know my l  reproach,
and my shame and my dishonor;
my foes are all known to you.
20 m  Reproaches have broken my heart,
so that I am in n  despair.
I o  looked for p  pity, but there was none,
and for q  comforters, but I found none.

The meaning of the Hebrew word is uncertain

16Your wrath has swept over me;
your s  dreadful assaults destroy me.
17They t  surround me like a flood u  all day long;
they v  close in on me together.
18You have caused w  my beloved and my friend to shun me;
my companions have become darkness.
Or darkness has become my only companion

Hebrew  for the Lord’s sake
aa  make your face to shine upon ab  your sanctuary, which is desolate.
