14 Then God said, “Let there be ^{▼▼Or luminaries, light-bearers, and so throughout the ch
,} ^blights in the ^{▼▼Or firmament; i.e., atmosphere and space
,} ^dexpanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and they shall ^{▼▼Lit be for}serve as ^fsigns and for ^gseasons, and for days and years; 15 and they ^{▼▼Lit be for}shall serve as lights in the ^{▼▼Or firmament}expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 God made the two great lights, the ^jgreater light ^{▼▼Lit for the dominion of}to govern the day, and the lesser light ^{▼▼Lit for the dominion of}to govern the night; He made ^mthe stars also. 17 ⁿGod placed them in the ^{▼▼Or firmament}expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and ^{▼▼Lit for the dominion of}to ^qgovern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.
