Isaiah 58:6-11

6 “Is this not the fast that I choose:
To ^arelease the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the ropes of the yoke,
And to ^blet the oppressed go free,
And ^cbreak every yoke?
7 “Is it not to ^dbreak your bread ^{▼▼Lit for}with the hungry
And ^fbring the homeless poor into the house;
When you see the ^gnaked, to cover him;
And not to ^hhide yourself from your own flesh?
8 “Then your ⁱlight will break out like the dawn,
And your ^jrecovery will spring up quickly;
And your ^krighteousness will go before you;
The glory of the ^lLord will be your rear guard.
9 “Then you will ^mcall, and the Lord will answer;
You will cry for help, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you ⁿremove the yoke from your midst,
The ^{▼▼I.e., an abusive gesture
,} ^ppointing of the finger and ^qspeaking wickedness,
10 And if you ^roffer yourself to the hungry
And satisfy the ^{▼▼Or soul}need of the afflicted,
Then your ^tlight will rise in darkness,
And your gloom will become like midday.
11 “And the ^uLord will continually guide you,
And ^vsatisfy your ^{▼▼Or soul}desire in scorched places,
And ^xgive strength to your bones;
And you will be like a ^ywatered garden,
And like a ^zspring of water whose waters do not ^{▼▼Or deceive}fail.
