The Beatitudes

20 And He raised His eyes toward His disciples and began saying, “ ^aBlessed are ^{▼▼Lit the poor}you who are poor, for ^cyours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are ^{▼▼Lit the ones who}you who are hungry now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are ^{▼▼Lit the ones who}you who weep now, for you will laugh. 22 ^fBlessed are you when the people hate you, and when they ^{▼▼Or excommunicate} ^hexclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man. 23 Rejoice on that day and ⁱjump for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For their fathers used to ^{▼▼Lit do to}treat the prophets ^kthe same way.
