2 Corinthians 6
Their Ministry Commended
1 And aworking together with Him, bwe also urge you not to receive cthe grace of God in vain-- 2for He says,“ dAt a favorable time I listened to you,
And on a day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is “a favorable time,” behold, now is “a day of salvation”-- 3 egiving no reason for taking offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited, 4but in everything fcommending ourselves as ▼
▼Or ministers
hservants of God, iin much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in difficulties, 5in jbeatings, in imprisonments, in ▼▼Lit tumults
lmob attacks, in labors, in sleeplessness, in mhunger, 6in purity, in nknowledge, in opatience, in kindness, in the pHoly Spirit, in qgenuine love, 7in rthe word of truth, and in sthe power of God; by tthe weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left, 8by glory and udishonor, by vevil report and good report; regarded as wdeceivers and yet xtrue; 9as unknown and yet well known, as ydying and yet behold, zwe are alive; as ▼▼Or disciplined
punished and yet not put to death, 10as absorrowful yet always acrejoicing, as adpoor yet making many rich, as aehaving nothing and yet possessing afall things. 11 agOur mouth ▼▼Lit is open to you
has spoken freely to you, you Corinthians, our aiheart is opened wide. 12You are not restrained ▼▼Or in us
by us, but akyou are restrained in your own ▼▼Lit inward parts
affections. 13Now in the same way in amexchange--I am speaking as to anchildren --open wide your hearts to us, you as well. 14 aoDo not be ▼▼Lit unevenly yoked
mismatched with aqunbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness arshare together, or what does light have in common with darkness? 15Or what asharmony does Christ have with ▼▼Gr Beliar; a name of the devil and the antichrist
Belial, or ▼▼Lit what part has a believer with an unbeliever
what does a avbeliever share with an awunbeliever? 16Or axwhat agreement does ▼▼Or a temple
the temple of God have with idols? For we are ▼▼Or a temple
bathe temple of bbthe living God; just as God said, “ bcI will bddwell among them and bewalk among them;
And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
17 “ bfTherefore, bgcome out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord.
“And do not touch what is unclean;
And I will welcome you.
18 “ bhAnd I will be a father to you,
And you shall be bisons and daughters to Me,”
Says the Lord Almighty.
