Bildad Says Mankind Is Inferior

1 Then Bildad the Shuhite responded,

2 “ ^aDominion and awe ^{▼▼Lit are with Him}belong to Him
Who makes peace in ^cHis heights.
3 “Is there any number to ^dHis troops?
And upon whom does His light not rise?
4 “How then can mankind be ^erighteous with God?
Or how can anyone who is born of woman be ^fpure?
5 “If even ^gthe moon has no brightness
And the ^hstars are not pure in His sight,
6 How much less ⁱman, that ^jmaggot,
And a son of man, that worm!”
