1 ▼▼Ch 2:2 in Heb
Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God bfrom the stomach of the fish, 2and he said, “I ccalled out of my distress to the Lord,
And He answered me.
I called for help from the ▼
▼Lit belly
depth of eSheol; You heard my voice.
3 “For You fthrew me into the deep,
Into the heart of the seas,
And the current flowed around me.
All Your gbreakers and waves passed over me.
4 “So I said, ‘I have been hcast out ▼
▼Lit from Your eyes
of Your sight. Nevertheless I will look again jtoward Your holy temple.’
5 “ kWater encompassed me to the ▼
▼Lit soul
point of death. The mdeep flowed around me,
Seaweed was wrapped around my head.
6 “I ndescended to the base of the mountains.
The earth with its obars was around me forever,
But You have pbrought up my life from ▼
▼Or corruption
the pit, Lord my God. 7 “While ▼
▼Lit my soul within me was
I was sfainting away, I tremembered the Lord,
And my uprayer came to You,
Into vYour holy temple.
8 “Those who ware followers of worthless ▼
▼Lit futilities
idols Abandon their faithfulness,
9 But I will ysacrifice to You
With a voice of thanksgiving.
That which I have vowed I will zpay.
aaSalvation is from the Lord.” 10 Then the Lord commanded the abfish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land.
