‏ Psalms 4

Evening Prayer of Trust in God.

For the music director; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.


1 bAnswer me when cI call, God
I.e., who maintains my right
of my righteousness!
You have
Lit made room for
frelieved me in my distress;
Be ggracious to me and hhear my prayer.


2 You sons of man, how long will imy
Or glory
honor be treated as kan insult?
How long will you love lwhat is worthless and strive for a mlie? Selah

3 But know that the Lord has

oset apart the pgodly person for Himself;
The Lord qhears when I call to Him.

sTremble,
Or but
uand do not sin;
Lit Speak
wMeditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah

5 Offer
Or righteous sacrifices
the ysacrifices of righteousness,
And ztrust in the Lord.


6 Many are saying, “ aaWho will show us anything good?”
abLift up the light of Your face upon us, Lord!

7 You have put acjoy in my heart,
More than when their grain and new wine are abundant.

8 In peace I will
Or at the same time
both aelie down and sleep,
For You alone, Lord, have me afdwell in safety.
