Futility of Boastful Wickedness.

1 Why do you ^cboast in evil, you mighty man?
The ^dfaithfulness of God endures all day long.
2 Your tongue devises ^edestruction,
Like a ^fsharp razor, ^gyou worker of deceit.
3 You ^hlove evil more than good,
ⁱLies more than speaking what is right. Selah
4 You love all words that devour,
You ^jdeceitful tongue.

5 ^{▼▼Or Also}But God will break you down forever;
He will snatch you up and ^ltear you away from your tent,
And ^muproot you from the ⁿland of the living. Selah
6 The righteous will ^osee and fear,
And they will ^plaugh at him, saying,
7 “Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge,
But ^qtrusted in the abundance of his riches
And ^rwas strong in ^{▼▼Or his destruction}his evil desire.”

8 But as for me, I am like a ^tgreen olive tree in the house of God;
I ^utrust in the faithfulness of God forever and ever.
9 I will ^vpraise You forever, because You have done it,
And I will wait on Your name, ^wfor it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.
