God Humbles the Proud, but Exalts the Righteous.

For the music director; set to
Lit Do Not Destroy
Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.

1 We bgive thanks to You, God, we give thanks,
For Your name is cnear;
People declare dYour wondrous works.

2 “When I select an eappointed time,
It is I who fjudge fairly.

3 “The gearth and all who inhabit it
Lit totter
are unsteady;
It is I who have firmly set its ipillars. Selah

4 “I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
And to the wicked, ‘ jDo not lift up the horn;

5 Do not lift up your horn on high,
kDo not speak with insolent
Lit neck
pride.’”

6 For not from the east, nor from the west,
Nor from the
Or mountainous desert
ndesert comes exaltation;

7 But oGod is the Judge;
He pputs down one and exalts another.

8 For a qcup is in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foams;
It is
Lit full of mixture
swell mixed, and He pours out of this;
Certainly all the wicked of the earth must drain and tdrink its dregs.

9 But as for me, I will udeclare it forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10 And
Heb I
He will cut off all the whorns of the wicked,
But xthe horns of the righteous will be lifted up.
