q Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who r according to His great mercy s has caused us to be born again to t a living hope through the u resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an v inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and w will not fade away, x reserved in heaven for you, who are y protected by the power of God z through faith for aa a salvation ready ab to be revealed in the last time. ac In this you greatly rejoice, even though now ad for a little while ae if necessary, you have been distressed by af various

so that the

is perishable ak even though tested by fire al may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at am the revelation of Jesus Christ;
and an though you have not seen Him, you ao love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and

obtaining as aq the outcome of your faith the salvation of

10  as As to this salvation, the prophets who at prophesied of the au grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries, 11

seeking to know what person or time aw the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He ax predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories

12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who az preached the gospel to you by ba the Holy Spirit sent from heaventhings into which bb angels long to

13 Therefore
Lit gird the loins of your mind
,

Lit be sober

bg keep sober in spirit, fix your bh hope completely on the bi grace
Or which is announced
to be brought to you at bk the revelation of Jesus Christ.
14 As

17 If you bw address as Father the One who bx impartially by judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves bz in fear during the time of your ca stay on earth; 18 knowing that you were not
Or ransomed
,
cc redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your cd futile way of life inherited from your forefathers,
19 but with precious ce blood, as of a cf lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 20 For He was cg foreknown before ch the foundation of the world, but has ci appeared
Lit at the end of the times
in these last times ck for the sake of you
21 who through Him are cl believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and cm gave Him glory, so that your faith and cn hope are in God.

22 Since you have co in obedience to the truth cp purified your souls for a

23 for you have been ct born again cu not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring cv word of God. 24 For, cw All flesh is like grass,
And all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
And the flower falls off,
25  cx  But the word of the Lord endures forever.”
And this is cy the word which was
