2 Thessalonians 2

Man of Lawlessness

Now we request you, a brethren, with regard to the
Or presence
c coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our d gathering together to Him,
that you not be quickly shaken from your
Lit mind
composure or be disturbed either by a f spirit or a
Lit word
h message or a i letter as if from us, to the effect that j the day of the Lord k has come.
l Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the
Or falling away from the faith
n apostasy comes first, and the o man of lawlessness is revealed, the p son of destruction,
who opposes and exalts himself above
Or everyone who is called God
r every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God s displaying himself as being God.
Do you not remember that t while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? And you know u what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For v the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only w he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. Then that lawless one x will be revealed whom the Lord will slay y with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the z appearance of His
Or presence
that is, the one whose
Or presence
coming is in accord with the activity of ac Satan, with all power and
Or attesting miracles
ae signs and false wonders,
10 and with
Or every deception
all the deception of wickedness for ag those who perish, because they did not receive the love of ah the truth so as to be saved.
11 For this reason ai God
Lit is sending
will send upon them
Lit an activity of error
a al deluding influence so that they will believe
Or the lie
what is false,
12 in order that they all may be
Or condemned
judged who ao did not believe the truth, but
Or approved
aq took pleasure in wickedness.

13  ar But we should always give thanks to God for you, as brethren beloved by the Lord, because at God has chosen you
