Put On the New Self

1Therefore if you have been a  raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, b  seated at the right hand of God. 2
Or Be intent on
d  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
3For you have e  died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ f  who is our life, is revealed g  then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

5 h  Therefore
Lit put to death the members which are upon the earth
consider j  the members of your earthly body as dead to

l  immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which

amounts to idolatry.
6For it is because of these things that n  the wrath of God will come

12So, as those who have been aj  chosen of God, holy and beloved ak  put on a al  heart of compassion, kindness am  humility, gentleness and
I.e. forbearance toward others
ao  patience;
13 ap  bearing with one another, and aq  forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; ar  just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14Beyond all these things put on love, which is

at  the perfect bond of au  unity.
15Let av  the peace of Christ
Or act as arbiter
rule in your hearts, to which

indeed you were called in ay  one body; and
Or show yourselves thankful
be thankful.
16Let ba  the word of

Christ richly dwell within you,

with all wisdom bd  teaching and admonishing
Or one another, singing with psalms...

Or by; lit in His grace
with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
17 bi  Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus bj  giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Family Relations

18 bk  Wives bl  be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 bm  Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. 20 bn  Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing
