Hebrews 13

The Changeless Christ

1Let a  love of the brethren continue. 2Do not neglect to b  show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have c  entertained angels without knowing it. 3 d  Remember e  the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body. 4 f  Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; g  for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. 5Make sure that your character is h  free from the love of money i  being content with what you have; for He Himself has said j  “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” 6so that we confidently say, k  The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
What will man do to me?”

7Remember l  those who led you, who spoke m  the word of God to you; and considering the
Or end of their life
result of their conduct o  imitate their faith.
8 p  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. 9 q  Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to r  be strengthened by grace, not by s  foods t  through which those who
Lit walked
were so occupied were not benefited.
10We have an altar v  from which those w  who serve the
Or sacred tent
tabernacle have no right to eat.
11For y  the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp. 12Therefore Jesus also z  that He might sanctify the people aa  through His own blood, suffered ab  outside the gate. 13So, let us go out to Him outside the camp ac  bearing His reproach. 14For here ad  we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking ae  the city which is to come.

God-pleasing Sacrifices

15 af  Through Him then, let us continually offer up a ag  sacrifice of praise to God, that is, ah  the fruit of lips that
Lit confess
give thanks to His name.
16And do not neglect doing good and aj  sharing, for ak  with such sacrifices God is pleased.

17 al  Obey your leaders and submit to them, for am  they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account.
Lit in order that they may do this
Let them do this with joy and not
Lit groaning
with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.

18 ap  Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a aq  good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things. 19And I urge you all the more to do this ar  so that I may be restored to you the sooner.

Benediction

20Now as  the God of peace, who at  brought up from the dead the au  great Shepherd of the sheep
Lit in
through aw  the blood of the ax  eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord,
21 ay  equip you in every good thing to do His will az  working in us that ba  which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ bb  to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

22But bc  I urge you, bd  brethren,
Or listen to
bear with
Lit the
this bg  word of exhortation, for bh  I have written to you briefly.
23
Lit Know
Take notice that bj  our brother Timothy has been released, with whom, if he comes soon, I will see you.
24Greet bk  all of your leaders and all the
Or holy ones
,
bm  saints. Those from bn  Italy greet you.

25 bo  Grace be with you all.
