3 For my days g have been ▼
▼ Or finishedconsumed in smoke,
And my i bones have been scorched like a hearth.
4 My heart j has been smitten like ▼
▼ Lit herbagegrass and has l withered away,
Indeed, I m forget to eat my bread.
5 Because of the ▼
▼ Lit voiceloudness of my groaning
My o bones ▼
▼ Lit have cleavedcling to my flesh.
6 I ▼
▼ Lit have become similar toresemble a r pelican of the wilderness;
I have become like an owl of the waste places.
7 I s lie awake,
I have become like a lonely bird on a housetop.
8 My enemies t have reproached me all day long;
Those who ▼
▼ Or made a fool of, v deride me ▼
▼ Lit have sworn by mehave used my name as a x curse.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread
And y mingled my drink with weeping
10 z Because of Your indignation and Your wrath,
For You have aa lifted me up and cast me away.
11 My days are like a ▼
▼ Lit stretched out, ac lengthened shadow,
▼ Or as for me, II ae wither away like ▼
▼ Lit herbagegrass.
12 But You, O Lord ▼
▼ Or sit enthroned, ah abide forever,
And Your ▼
▼ Lit memorial, aj name to all generations.
13 You will ak arise and have al compassion on Zion;
For am it is time to be gracious to her,
For the an appointed time has come.
14 Surely Your servants ▼
▼ Or have foundfind pleasure in her stones
And feel pity for her dust.
▼ Or AndSo the ▼
▼ Or Gentiles, heathen, ar nations will fear the name of the Lord
And as all the kings of the earth Your glory.
16 For the Lord has at built up Zion;
He has au appeared in His glory.
17 He has av regarded the prayer of the ▼
▼ Or nakeddestitute
And has not despised their prayer.
▼ Or Let this be writtenThis will be ay written for the az generation to come,
▼ Or AndThat bb a people yet to be created ▼
▼ Or willmay praise ▼
▼ Heb Yahthe Lord.
19 For He be looked down from His holy height;
bf From heaven the Lord gazed ▼
▼ Lit towardupon the earth,
20 To hear the bh groaning of the prisoner,
To bi set free ▼
▼ Lit the sons of deaththose who were doomed to death,
21 That men may bk tell of the name of the Lord in Zion
And His praise in Jerusalem,
22 When bl the peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
23 He has weakened my strength in the way;
He has bm shortened my days.
24 I say, “O my God bn do not take me away in the ▼
▼ Lit halfmidst of my days,
Your bp years are throughout all generations.
25 “Of old You bq founded the earth,
And the br heavens are the work of Your hands.
▼ Lit They themselves“Even they will bt perish, but You endure;
And all of them will wear out like a garment;
Like clothing You will change them and they will be changed.
27 “But You are ▼
▼ Lit He, bv the same,
And Your years will not come to an end.
28 “The bw children of Your servants will continue,
And their ▼
▼ Lit seed, by descendants will be established before You.”
