Praise for the Lord’s Mercies.
A Psalm of David.1 a Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His b holy name.
2Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And c forget none of His benefits;
3Who d pardons all your iniquities,
Who e heals all your diseases;
4Who f redeems your life from the pit,
Who g crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
5Who h satisfies your ▼
▼ Or desireyears with good things,
So that your youth is j renewed like the eagle.
6The Lord k performs ▼
▼ Or deeds of vindicationrighteous deeds
And judgments for all who are m oppressed.
7He n made known His ways to Moses,
His o acts to the sons of Israel.
8The Lord is p compassionate and gracious,
q Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.
9He r will not always strive with us,
Nor will He s keep His anger forever.
10He has t not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11For as high u as the heavens are above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who ▼fear Him.
12As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He w removed our transgressions from us.
13Just x as a father has compassion on his children,
So the Lord has compassion on those who ▼fear Him.
14For z He Himself knows ▼
▼ I.e. what we are made ofour frame;
He ab is mindful that we are but ac dust.
15As for man, his days are ad like grass;
As a ae flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16When the af wind has passed over it, it is no more,
And its ag place acknowledges it no longer.
17But the ah lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who ▼fear Him,
And His ▼
▼ I.e. faithfulness to His gracious promisesrighteousness ak to children’s children,
18To al those who keep His covenant
And remember His precepts to do them.
19The Lord has established His am throne in the heavens,
And His ▼
▼ Or kingdom, ao sovereignty rules over ▼
▼ I.e. the universeall.
20Bless the Lord, you aq His angels,
ar Mighty in strength, who as perform His word,
at Obeying the voice of His word!
21Bless the Lord, all you au His hosts,
You av who serve Him, doing His will.
22Bless the Lord aw all you works of His,
In all places of His dominion;
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
