Psalms 132

Prayer for the  Lord’s Blessing upon the Sanctuary.

A Song of Ascents.

Remember, O  Lord, on David’s behalf,
All a his affliction;
How he swore to the  Lord
And vowed to b the Mighty One of Jacob,
Surely I will not
Lit come into the tabernacle of
enter d my house,
Lit go up into the couch of
lie on my bed;
I will not f give sleep to my eyes
Or slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find a g place for the  Lord,
Lit Dwelling places
A dwelling place for i the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Behold, we heard of it in j Ephrathah,
We found it in the k field of
Or the wood
Let us go into His
Lit dwelling places
n dwelling place;
Let us o worship at His p footstool.
q Arise, O  Lord, to Your r resting place,
You and the ark of Your s strength.
Let Your priests be t clothed with righteousness,
And let Your u godly ones sing for joy.

10 For the sake of David Your servant,
Do not turn away the face of Your v anointed.
11 The  Lord has w sworn to David
A truth from which He will not turn back:
x Of the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.
12 If your sons will keep My covenant
And My testimony which I will teach them,
Their sons also shall y sit upon your throne forever.”

13 For the  Lord has z chosen Zion;
He has aa desired it for His habitation.
14 This is My ab resting place forever;
Here I will ac dwell, for I have desired it.
15 I will abundantly ad bless her provision;
I will ae satisfy her needy with bread.
16 “Her af priests also I will clothe with salvation,
And her ag godly ones will sing aloud for joy.
17 There I will cause the ah horn of David to spring forth;
I have prepared a ai lamp for Mine anointed.
18 His enemies I will aj clothe with shame,
But upon himself his ak crown shall shine.”
