Psalms 141

An Evening Prayer for Sanctification and Protection.

A Psalm of David.

O  Lord, I call upon You; a hasten to me!
b Give ear to my voice when I call to You!
May my prayer be
Lit fixed
counted as d incense before You;
The e lifting up of my hands as the f evening offering.
Set a g guard, O  Lord
Lit to
over my mouth;
Keep watch over the i door of my lips.
j Do not incline my heart to any evil thing,
To practice deeds
Lit in
of wickedness
With men who l do iniquity;
And m do not let me eat of their delicacies.

Let the n righteous smite me
Or lovingly
in kindness and reprove me;
It is p oil upon the head;
Do not let my head refuse it,
Lit And my prayer
For still my prayer r is
Or in spite of their calamities
against their wicked deeds.
Their judges are t thrown down by the sides of the rock,
And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.
As when one u plows and breaks open the earth,
Our v bones have been scattered at the w mouth of
I.e. the nether world
Sheol.

For my y eyes are toward You, O
Heb YHWH, usually rendered  Lord
 God, the Lord;
In You I aa take refuge; ab do not
Lit pour out my soul
leave me defenseless.
Keep me from the
Lit hands of the trap
,
ae jaws of the trap which they have set for me,
And from the af snares of those who do iniquity.
10 Let the wicked ag fall into their own nets,
While I pass by
Lit altogether
,
ai safely.
