A
Possibly Epigrammatic Poem or Atonement Psalm
Mikhtam of David.

b Preserve me, O God, for c I take refuge in You.
Or O my soul, you said
I said to the  Lord, “You are
Or the Lord
my Lord;
I f have no good besides You.”
As for the
Lit holy ones; i.e. the godly
,
h saints who are in the earth,
Lit And the majestic ones...delight
They are the majestic ones j in whom is all my delight.
The
I.e. sorrows due to idolatry
,
l sorrows of those who have
Or hastened to
bartered for another god will be multiplied;
I shall not pour out their drink offerings of n blood,
Nor will I o take their names upon my lips.

The  Lord is the p portion of my inheritance and my q cup;
You support my r lot.
The s lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Indeed, my heritage is t beautiful to me.

I will bless the  Lord who has u counseled me;
Indeed, my
Lit kidneys, figurative for inner man
,
w mind instructs me in the night.
x I have y set the  Lord continually before me;
Because He is z at my right hand aa I will not be shaken.
Therefore ab my heart is glad and ac my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will ad dwell securely.
10 For You ae will not abandon my soul to
I.e. the nether world
Sheol;
Nor will You
Lit give
,
ah allow Your
Or godly one
Holy One to
Or see corruption or the pit
undergo decay.
11 You will make known to me ak the path of life;
In al Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are am pleasures forever.
