Psalms 2

The Reign of the  Lord’s Anointed.

1Why are a  the
Or Gentiles
nations in an uproar
And the peoples c  devising a vain thing?
2The d  kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
e  Against the  Lord and against His
Or Messiah

3“Let us h  tear their fetters apart
And cast away their cords from us!”

4He who
Or is enthroned
sits in the heavens j  laughs,
The Lord k  scoffs at them.
5Then He will speak to them in His l  anger
And m  terrify them in His fury, saying,
6“But as for Me, I have
Or consecrated
installed o  My King
Upon Zion p  My holy mountain.”

Or decree: The  Lord said to Me
decree of the  Lord:
He said to Me, ‘You are r  My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8Ask of Me, and s  I will surely give t  the
Or Gentiles
nations as Your inheritance,
And the very v  ends of the earth as Your possession.
9‘You shall

10Now therefore, O kings ab  show discernment;
Take warning, O
Or leaders
judges of the earth.
Or Serve
Worship the  Lord with
Or fear
af  reverence
And rejoice with ag  trembling.
Lit Kiss; some ancient versions read Do homage purely, or, Lay hold of instruction
Do homage to ai  the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way,
For aj  His wrath may

soon be kindled.
How blessed are all who al  take refuge in Him!
