Psalms 21

Praise for Deliverance.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

1 O  Lord, in Your strength the king will a  be glad,
And in Your
Or victory
salvation how greatly he will rejoice!
2You have c  given him his heart’s desire,
And You have not withheld the request of his lips.
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
3For You e  meet him with the blessings of good things;
You set a f  crown of fine gold on his head.
4He asked life of You,
You g  gave it to him,
h  Length of days forever and ever.
5His i  glory is great through Your
Or victory
k  Splendor and majesty You place upon him.
6For You make him
Lit blessings
most m  blessed forever;
You make him joyful n  with gladness in Your presence.

7For the king o  trusts in the  Lord,
And through the lovingkindness of the Most High p  he will not be shaken.
8Your hand will q  find out all your enemies;
Your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9You will make them r  as a fiery oven in the time
Or of your presence
of your anger;
The  Lord will t  swallow them up in His wrath,
And u  fire will devour them.
Lit fruit
offspring You will destroy from the earth,
And their
Lit seed
x  descendants from among the sons of men.
11Though they
Lit stretched out
z  intended evil against You
And aa  devised a plot,
They will not succeed.
12For You will ab  make them turn their back;
You will
Lit make ready
aim ad  with Your bowstrings at their faces.
13Be exalted, O  Lord, in Your strength;
We will ae  sing and praise Your power.
