Psalms 27

A Psalm of Fearless Trust in God.

A Psalm of David.

The  Lord is my a light and my b salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The  Lord is the
Or refuge
d defense of my life;
e Whom shall I dread?
When evildoers came upon me to f devour my flesh,
My adversaries and my enemies, they g stumbled and fell.
Though a h host encamp against me,
My heart will not fear;
Though war arise against me,
In spite of this I
Lit am confident
shall be j confident.

k One thing I have asked from the  Lord, that I shall seek:
That I may l dwell in the house of the  Lord all the days of my life,
To behold m the
Lit delightfulness
beauty of the  Lord
And to
Lit inquire
p meditate in His temple.
For in the q day of trouble He will r conceal me in His
Or shelter
In the secret place of His tent He will t hide me;
He will u lift me up on a rock.
And now v my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,
And I will offer in His tent w sacrifices
Lit of shouts
with shouts of joy;
I will y sing, yes, I will sing praises to the  Lord.

z Hear, O  Lord, when I cry with my voice,
And be gracious to me and aa answer me.
When You said ab Seek My face,” my heart said to You,
Your face, O  Lord ac I shall seek.”
ad Do not hide Your face from me,
Do not turn Your servant away in ae anger;
You have been af my help;
ag Do not abandon me nor ah forsake me,
O God of my salvation!
Or If my father...forsake me, Then the  Lord
For my father and aj my mother have forsaken me,
But ak the  Lord will take me up.

11  al Teach me Your way, O  Lord,
And lead me in a am level path
Because of
Or those who lie in wait for me
my foes.
12 Do not deliver me over to the
Lit soul
ap desire of my adversaries,
For aq false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as ar breathe out violence.
Or Surely I believed
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the at goodness of the  Lord
In the au land of the living.
14  av Wait for the  Lord;
Be aw strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the  Lord.
