Prayer for Defense against Enemies.

1 Sam 23:19; 26:1
when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “Is not David hiding himself among us?”

1 Save me, O God, by c  Your name,
Lit judge
vindicate me by e  Your power.
2 f  Hear my prayer, O God;
g  Give ear to the words of my mouth.
3For strangers have h  risen against me
And i  violent men have j  sought my
Or soul
They have l  not set God before them.
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude

4Behold n  God is my helper;
The Lord is
Lit as those who sustain
the p  sustainer of my soul.
Lit The evil will return
He will r  recompense the evil to
Or those who lie in wait for me
my foes;
Or Put to silence
u  Destroy them v  in Your
Or truth

Or With a freewill offering
y  Willingly I will sacrifice to You;
I will give z  thanks to Your name, O  Lord, for it is good.
Or it; i.e. His name
He has ab  delivered me from all
Or distress
And my eye has ad  looked with satisfaction upon my enemies.
