upon an eight-string lyre. A Psalm of David.

1 O  Lord, b  do not rebuke me in Your anger,
Nor chasten me in Your wrath.
2Be gracious to me, O  Lord, for I am c  pining away;
d  Heal me, O  Lord, for e  my bones are dismayed.
3And my f  soul is greatly dismayed;
But You, O  Lordg  how long?

4Return, O  Lord h  rescue my
Or life
soul;
Save me because of Your lovingkindness.
5For j  there is no
Or remembrance
mention of You in death;
In
I.e. the nether world
Sheol who will give You thanks?

6I am m  weary with my sighing;
Every night I make my bed swim,
I dissolve my couch with n  my tears.
7My o  eye has wasted away with grief;
It has become old because of all my adversaries.

8 p  Depart from me, all you who do iniquity,
For the  Lord q  has heard the voice of my weeping.
9The  Lord r  has heard my supplication,
The  Lord s  receives my prayer.
10All my enemies will t  be ashamed and greatly dismayed;
They shall
Or again be ashamed suddenly
turn back, they will v  suddenly be ashamed.
