Psalms 62

God Alone a Refuge from Treachery and Oppression.

For the choir director;
Cf 1 Chr 16:41; 25:1; Psa.39.. and 77 titles
according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

1 b  My soul waits in silence for God only;
From Him c  is my salvation.
2He only is my d  rock and my salvation,
My e  stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.

3How long will you assail a man,
That you may murder him, all of you,
Like a f  leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
4They have counseled only to thrust him down from his high position;
They g  delight in falsehood;
They h  bless with
Lit his
their mouth,
But inwardly they curse.
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude

5My soul k  wait in silence for God only,
For my hope is from Him.
6He only is l  my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
7On God my m  salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my n  refuge is in God.
8 o  Trust in Him at all times, O people;
p  Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9Men of q  low degree are only r  vanity and men of rank are a s  lie;
In the t  balances they go up;
They are together lighter than breath.
10 u  Do not trust in oppression
And do not
Lit become vain in robbery
vainly hope in w  robbery;
If riches increase x  do not set your heart upon them.

Or One thing
Once God has z  spoken;
Or These two things I have heard
Twice I have heard this:
That ab  power belongs to God;
12And lovingkindness ac  is Yours, O Lord,
For You ad  recompense a man according to his work.
